Lopsided start to CWC

It couldn't have been easier for the New Zealand Cricketers first up at the World Cup, against arguably the weakest side at the tournament, but skipper Daniel Vettori says it was a fantastic performance by the pace bowlers which brought them victory inside 32 overs.

Hamish Bennetrt with 4 wickets for 16, Tim Southee 3 for 13, Jacob Oram 3 for 2, shared the wickets as Kenya crumbled for just 69, and the New Zealand openering batsmen Brendon McCullum and Martin Guptil scored the winning runs off 49 balls.

In the other match in group A last night, Sri Lanka won just as easily against Canada. Led by a century from Mahela Jayawardene, the tournament co-hosts made 332 for 7 and dismissed Canada for 122.
