Tactix blow comeback in netball opener

7:10 am on 22 February 2011

The Canterbury based Tactix failed to nail a win against the Australian West Coast Fever in last night's trans-tasman netball clash despite an impressive second quarter comeback.

The West Coast Fever eventually beat the Tactic 54-48, but the Tactix had a four-goal lead during the third quarter.

The Tactix were sloppy to start with and trailed by nine goals at the end of the first quarter, then they went on a 7 goal spree and got back within one at the end of the second.

During the third quarter they held a four-goal advantage but let it slip as the Fever scored five unanswered goals and went on to win the final quarter.

Tactix midcourter Phillipa Finch put it down to unforced errors.

In Australia the Queensland Firebirds defeated the New South Wales Swifts 51-48.
