Australian have opened their programme at the Cricket World Cup with a comfortable 91-run win over Zimbabwe in Ahmedabad.

Australia were initially tied down by the Zimbabwe spinners before they managed to break free and post 262 for six after winning the toss.

Then their speed merchants Brett Lee, Shaun Tait and Mitchell Johnson regularly hit the 145 kph mark to reduce Zimbabwe to 44 for four within 13 overs, from which they never recovered and they were all out for 171.

Australia's next game is against the Black Caps on Friday.
