The Canterbury based Tactix failed to get a first-up win in their opening game of the trans-Tasman netball competition but some promising signs were taken from Monday night's game.
The Australian West Coast Fever eventually beat the Tactix 54-48.
The Tactix has a sloppy start trailing by nine goals at the end of the first quarter, then they got back within one at the end of the second and held a four-goal advantage during the third.
But unforced effors saw the Fever come back and take the win.
Tactix midcourter Phillipa Finch says despite the loss, they are pleased with periods of their play and says it was a boost having former Silver Fern Donna Wilkins back in the shooting circle.
