Willis organising track meeting for Wellington

9:44 am on 23 February 2011

New Zealand's Olympic silver medalist Nick Willis says a track meeting is trying to be organised for Wellington on Saturday where it is likely he'll be presented with his medal.

A meeting is scheduled for QE2 Stadium in Christchurch, but that is likely to be cancelled following yesterday's earthquake.

On his facebook page, Willis says he's hoping to run an 800 metre race at Newtown Stadium as a part of a hastily arranged meeting.

Willis is yet to receive the Beijing Olympic silver medal after being promoted from third when the winner was stripped of his title for failing a dope test.
