Northern Districts have beaten Auckland by nine wickets in their Plunket Shield cricket match at Colin Maiden Park.
The hosts Auckland were bowled out for 253 in their second innings leaving Northern a target of 177 for victory, which the visitors reached in just over 40 overs, finishing with 179 for one.
Central Districts trail Otago by 319 runs in their first innings at the end of the third day - Central are 156 for five in reply to Otago's 475 for seven declared.
The Wellington-Canterbury game was postponed due to the Christchurch earthquake.
