Unheralded American golfer Kyle Stanley has shot a two-under par 66 to take a one-stroke lead at the PGA Tour's latest tournament in Florida, the Palm Beach Classic.
South African Rory Sabbatini is breathing down Stanley's neck however, shooting a sizzling six-under 64 to take outright second on the par-70 course.
Another golfer from the Republic, Charl Schwartzel, is one more shot behind alone in third place.
World number two Lee Westwood is within range, in a group five back from Stanley. The Englishman can reclaim the number one world ranking with a solo third place finish or better
