Yuvraj stars with bat and ball as India beat Ireland

The Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh produced a stunning all-round show to become the first player to top up a five-wicket haul with a half century in the World Cup as India pulled off a nervy victory over Ireland in Bangalore this morning.

The 29-year-old helped the Indian bowlers skittle Ireland for 207 and then followed up with a cool 50 not out to steer his team to a five-wicket victory which keeps the home side on top of group B.

The man of the match Yuvraj says he's delighted to have picked up his maiden five-wicket bag and help the the co-hosts remain unbeaten in the tournament.

In this morning's other match England pulled off an unlikely victory over South Africa in Chennai to improve to second place in group B.

Defending only 171, England dismissed South Africa for 165 after the Proteas had been cruising at 75 for 1.
