Blacks Caps post big World Cup win over Pakistan

The Black Caps have taken a huge step towards the World Cup cricket quarter finals after a comprehensive 110-run win over Pakistan in Sri Lanka.

An unbeaten 131 off 124 balls by Ross Taylor on his 27th birthday was the feature of New Zealand's total of 302 for 7, which included 114 runs off the last six overs.

Then the Black Caps seam bowlers Tim Southee and Kyle Williams reduced Pakistan to 5 for 45, and their middle and tail order batsmen did well to get through to 192.

The match was only a few overs old when Daniel Vettori injured his knee attempting a catch, and he played no further part in the game.

New Zealand now share top spot in group A with Pakistan, and their next game is against Canada on Sunday.
