World record for Sri Lankan openers

Sri Lanka's opening batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanga combined in a World Cup cricket record opening partnership on their way to a 139-run victory over Zimbabwe.

Dilshan made 144 and Tharanga 133 in a first wicket partnership of 282 which was notable for just one six, and the inings ended at 327 for 6.

Zimbabwe were dismissed for 188.

Sri Lanka have replaced New Zealand at the top of group A, although they've played one more game than New Zealand and Pakistan, and two more than fourth placed Australia.
