Brumbies dealt another major injury blow

The ACT Brumbies Super Rugby problems continue to mount with the news that loose forward Mitchell Chapman fractured his cheekbone in the 52-10 loss to the Crusaders on Friday night and faces up to 10 weeks on the sidelines.

The slumping Brumbies, twice winners of the Super rugby tournament, have lost three consecutive matches, sacked coach Andy Friend earlier this month and are struggling with a number of injuries to key personnel.

Chapman's injury further hampers the Brumbies' back-row options with the Canberra-based side expected to be missing Australian captain Rocky Elsom and international team mate Stephen Hoiles for another six weeks.

The Brumbies, are 12th in the 15-team standings and also have injury concerns over winger Henry Speight (jaw) and hooker Stephen Moore (ankle).
