Black Caps eyeing Sri Lanka match as must win

The New Zealand cricket team are top of group A and guaranteed a place in the final eight of the world cup but all-rounder Jacob Oram says the Black Caps must beat Sri Lanka in their final pool game on Friday to maintain their winning momentum and potentially avoid the group B heavyweights in the quarter-finals.

With the top two teams from each group facing the third and fourth placed teams from the opposite pool the New Zealanders would do themselves a big favour by qualifying first or second in group A meaning they would likely dodge the tournament favourites South Africa and India in the first knockout round.

Oram believes the Black Caps are in a prime position to stage their assault on the tournament and says they're treating the match against Sri Lanka as though it were a World Cup final.
