Black Sticks and Japan draw fourth test

6:47 am on 17 March 2011

A goal in the first two minutes of play suggested the New Zealand women's hockey team may dominate the fourth test against Japan but the match finished in a two all draw, with the Black Sticks on the defensive for much of the match at North Harbour..

Ella Gunson scored first but Japan equalised soon afterwards and the visitors went two-one up early in the second half.

Katie Glynn scored the equaliser enabling the home side to retain its 2-1 series lead.

The fifth and final test is tomorrow.
