There are four changes to the Highlanders team to play the Crusaders on Saturday in Dunedin.

The captain Jamie Mackintosh is injured and has been bracketed in the reserves with Bronson Murray.

David Te Moana takes Mackintosh's place in the front row, where Chris King moves to loosehead and Mo Schwalger gets his first start at hooker with Jason Rutledge moving to the reserves.

Lock Tom Donnelly is back from injury so Jarrad Hoeata moves to the blindside flank with Adam Thomson on the open side.

Tony Brown will start at first-five and Robbie Robinson moves to the bench.
