The All Whites coach Ricki Herbert has included three uncapped players in the New Zealand squad of 18 players led by Ryan Nelsen for the one-match tour of China next week.

They are midfielder Marco Rojas, goalkeeper Jake Gleeson and fullback Michael Fitzgerald.

The cancellation of the Japan match means the West Ham United defender Winston Reid drops out because of suspension, while the Phoenix defender Ben Sigmund and midfielder Tim Brown are unavailable due to injury.

Striker Kosta Barbarouses returns after leading the Brisbane Roar attack with 11 A-League goals.

The squad's the starting point for Herbert to build a team to qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, starting with six qualifiers in 2012.

The rest of the team is: Glen Moss (goalkeeper), Tony Lochhead, Ivan Vicelich, Andrew Boyens, Tommy Smith (defenders), Michael McGlinchy, Jeremy Brockie, David Mulligan, Aaron Clapham (midfield), Shane Smeltz, Rory Fallon, Chris Killen, Chris Wood (forwards).
