Black Caps sweating on fitness of key bowlers

The New Zealand cricket team's bowling stocks have been dealt another blow ahead of the quarter-finals after paceman Hamish Bennett limped off during the Black Caps 112 run loss to Sri Lanka in their final group A game at the World Cup.

The Sri Lankans set a target of 256 on the back of Kumar Sangakkara's maiden world cup century before spinner Muttiah Muralitharan ripped through the New Zealand batsmen to skittle the Black Caps for just 153.

Stand in skipper Ross Taylor says the Black Caps are sweating on the fitness of key bowlers Daniel Vettori, Kyle Mills and Bennett.

In Friday night's other game Ireland beat the Netherlands by six wickets in Kolkata.
