Stephen Donald out with back injury

5:00 am on 21 March 2011

There's been another injury blow for the Chiefs with first-five Stephen Donald out of Super Rugby for about a month after injuring his back during the win over the Sharks in Hamilton.

X-rays have shown Donald has fractures to the transverse processes of his lumbar vertebrae.

It's a similar injury to the one Mils Muliaina suffered in the Chiefs-Rebels match two weeks ago, except the captain's is on the other side of his back.

The All Black fullback will be out of action for about another fortnight.

The Chiefs host the Blues at Waikato Stadium next weekend.
