Chelsea heap the pressure on United, Arsenal

Chelsea have kept alive their faint hopes of retaining the Premier League football title by beating Manchester City 2-0 in their crunch match in London, thanks to second-half goals from Brazilians David Luiz and Ramires.

Luiz headed a Didier Drogba free kick home with 12 minutes left on the clock then Ramires ran through the defence to wrap up the points at the death.

The victory pushes Chelsea above City into third, four points behind Arsenal and nine behind leaders Manchester United - though the Blues have a game in hand on the Red Devils.

Liverpool also comfortably won 2-0 at 10-man Sunderland in the morning's other game to solidify their hold on a Europa League place.
