New Zealand has won two medals, a silver and a bronze, on the second day of the track cycling world champs in the Netherlands.
Jesse Sergent from Feilding won his second silver medal in a row in the men's 4000m individual pursuit, beaten by the Australian world record holder Jack Bobridge who also pipped Sergent for gold at the Delhi Commonwealth Games.
There was also a repeat for the women's team pursuit who finished third as they did at the world champs in Copenhagen last year.
Sergent says while disappointed at not winning, he was pleased with his efforts given he had a limited track build up, having been riding for pro tour road team Radioshack.
Tomorrow Alison Shanks will ride the women's individual pursuit, Tom Scully rides the 40km Points race and Shane Archbold begins the six-event, two-day omnium, which has been added to the London Olympic programme.
