McKay replaces Mills

Wellington fast bowler Andy McKay will replace Kyle Mills in the New Zealand side for the remainder of the cricket World Cup.

Mills' quad strain has improved but not enough for him to return to full fitness before Tuesday night's semi-final against either co-hosts Sri Lanka or England.

Left arm paceman McKay will join the squad in Colombo within the next day or so. It's perhaps the perfect outcome for the Black Caps as Mills may yet be sanctioned by the match referee.

Mills was carrying the drinks in Saturday's quarter-final win and sparked a confrontation with South African batsman Faf du Plessis as the Proteas' campaign began to stutter. Du Plessis had just been involved in the run-out of his side's ace batsman AB de Villiers.
