The New Zealand cricket vice-captain Ross Taylor says the side genually believe they can go one step further and make the World Cup final.

After producing one of the best fielding performances of the tournament to beat South Africa, the Black Caps have grown in confidence ahead of tomorrow night's semi-final against Sri Lanka in Colombo.

Taylor says most of the time New Zealand play they're underdogs and it's something they almost enjoy.

He says some teams probably take them lightly, but they know it's going to be tough against Sri Lanka.

In pool play New Zealand lost to Sri Lanka by 112 runs, but Taylor believes having already played them will help, as they made a lost of mistakes then and know what to work on.

Taylor says they're desperate to translate the record of having made six semi-finals into something more significant.
