Argentina thump Black Sticks

6:30 am on 29 March 2011

The New Zealand women's hockey coach Mark Hager's prediction that Argentina would be stung after their first test draw proved correct as the world number one side thumped the Black Sticks 6-1 in the second test in the North Shore.

Argentina scored 3 goals in each half, while Cathryn Finlayson scored a field goal for the Black Stick early in the second half.

The world champions showed their class with a much quicker game and were able to hold possession and attack with confidence.

The final game is tonight at the North Harbour Hockey Stadium.
