The 1996 champions Sri Lanka are through to the final of the Cricket World Cup after denying New Zealand their second upset of the tournament.

In the first semi-final in Colombo, the Black Caps tried valiantly to defend their modest total of 217 all out, picking up four quick wickets to send the home side tumbling to 185 for 5, but Sri Lanka recovered to reach their target with five wickets and 13 balls to spare.

Sri Lanka are through to their third World Cup final, where they'll meet the winner of tonight's big match between India and Pakistan.
