Mardy Fish has replaced Andy Roddick as the top-ranked American in world tennis after beating Spain's David Ferrer in straight sets to move into the Miami Masters semi-finals.
Fish is currently ranked 15th and will formally overtake his friend and world number eight Roddick when the ATP world rankings are updated next week.
