NZ Cricket wants Donald to stay on

12:36 pm on 2 April 2011

New Zealand Cricket is hopeful of retaining the services of bowling coach Allan Donald.

The former South African star joined the Black Caps this year on a short term contract and after helping the New Zealanders beat the Proteas in the World Cup quarter-finals, he's likely to become hot property.

New Zealand Cricket CEO Justin Vaughn says they'll talk with Donald over the next couple of weeks about extending his stay.

vaughn says his future wouldn't just be with the BlackCaps but also with development players.

Meanwhile Vaughn says with the Black Caps next commitment not for another six months there is no rush to announce a new skipper now that Daniel Vettori has stood down.
