National Rugby League club doctors have agreed in principle that players diagnosed with concussion will not be allowed back onto the field in future games.
The doctors discussed the issue Thursday night and the changes have now been officially announced by the NRL.
The league will be looking for a standardised computer testing system to govern when players are fit to return to training or be selected for games.
The changes come only five days after Newcastle forward Richie Fa'aoso returned to the field after being concussed against Manly.
