The Fish steps up in favoured role at fullback

The Warriors Glen Fisiiahi put his horrendous NRL rugby league debut firmly behind him in Taupo yesterday after his man of the match performance helped lift the struggling side to their first win of the season.

Fisiiahi delivered a two-try display as the Warriors ended a three-match losing sequence with a 26-18 win over Cronulla in their fourth-round clash at Owen Delany Park.

After making a nightmare first-grade debut on the wing in the season-opening loss to Parramatta, the 20-year-old was recalled to start at fullback replacing Kiwi international Lance Hohaia and coach Ivan Cleary says the man they call the fish proved why he's touted as one of the most exciting prospects in rugby league.

The Warriors are still at the foot of the NRL table but the win at least lifts them level with the other bottom placed teams the Titans, Raiders, Panthers and Roosters.
