McMahon taking time over netball future

The Australian netball captain Sharelle McMahon is still considering her future in the sport, after confirming she'll miss the world champs in Singapore in July.

The 33-year-old says he doesn't want to rush a decision on whether she'll attempt a comeback after surgery to repair a ruptured achilles tendon.

McMahon suffered the injury during a Melbourne Vixens in the trans-Tasman competition last week.

Her recovery is expected to take between six and 12 months plus she also has a history of knee problems.

The Singapore tournament where Australia will defend the world title, would've been McMahon's fourth world champs and she'd have mostly likely become Australia's most capped player, surpassing former skipper Liz Ellis.
