Bulldogs coach slams video ref's call

12:47 pm on 5 April 2011

The Canterbury Bulldogs coach Kevin Moore doesn't expect video referee Chris Ward to retain his job next round after a key decision went against his side in their 30-16 loss to the Storm in Melbourne.

Moore said Ward's decision to disallow a try in the 29th minute due to obstruction was disgraceful.

The Bulldogs looked as they'd levelled the scoreline after sending the ball wide to young centre Tim Lafai, but Ward ruled that the Storm halfback Cooper Cronk had been taken out of play.

So instead of the Bulldogs converting the try for a 10-8 lead, two minutes later the Storm were in for the of their five tries..

The Storm coach Craig Bellamy said the Bulldogs were unlucky with the obstruction call as it was 50:50 but there was a forward pass too, so in the end the decision was right.
