Rodman surprised at Hall of Fame honour

9:08 am on 6 April 2011

The controversial former basketballer Dennis Rodman has expressed his surprise at being inducted into the sport's hall of fame.

Rodman played for five NBA teams winning three titles, one with the Chicago Bulls and two with the Detroit Pistons.

But his antics off the court often bought him into direct conflict with the games authorities.

Rodman says he never expected to have his name immortalized alongside the true legends of the game.

Others inducted into the basketball Hall of Fame include Chris Mullen, Artis Gilmore and Tom Sach-Sanders.
