The United States based swimmer, Lauren Boyle, says she realistically won't be a medal chance at July's World Championships in China despite winning the New Zealand national 200 freestyle final to qualify.
The 23-year-old, returning from her current base in California, clocked 1:58.74 in the final in Auckland last night, 4/10ths outside the national record but more than half a second inside the qualifying mark.
In winning Boyle also helped her Commonwealth Games medal-winning team-mates Tash Hind, Amaka Gessler and Penny Marshall through to a qualifying time for the world champs 4 by 200 metre relay but the long distance specialist admits her focus will be on the 400 and 800 freestyle at the World Champs.

There have now been seven World Championship qualifying times at the midway point of the national champs.
