The Sydney Roosters league star Todd Carney has been put on two-year good behaviour bond after pleading guilty last month to a low-range drink driving offence.
Carney missed a year of football when he was deregistered for repeated alcohol fuelled incidents in 2009.
The NRL's chief executive David Gallop has welcomed the Roosters' sanction of a 10-thousand dollar fine, and a five-point rehabilitation plan for Carney.
