Vettel wins in Malaysia despite KERS issues

The defending Formula One champion Sebastian Vettel dominated again to win the Malaysian Grand Prix overnight even though his Red Bull was handicapped by a faulty KERS system.

The 23-year-old matched his pole-to-flag victory in Australia two weeks ago with another experienced drive which nursed wearing Pirelli tyres as his KERS boost system worked only periodically .

The ease of Vettel's victory highlighted the need for his team's rivals to find a more competitive package before Red Bull can incorporate a reliable KERS system which will make them even quicker.

The Red Bull engineer Adrian Newey says the team were unsure what caused the problems with KERS, which they opted against using in Australia.

Despite the problems at a much-cooler than expected Sepang circuit, Vettel demonstrated the world championship form that had his team principal gushing in admiration.
