Adelaide's been dropped from the International Rugby Board's sevens circuit and replaced by the Gold Coast for the next four years.
Gold Coast will host the first tournament of the 2011-12 season in November, at Skilled Stadium.
The chief executive of the Australian rugby union, John O'Neill says Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Gold Coast all tendered for the event which Adelaide's hosted for the past five years.
