Bonds convicted on one charge

A U.S. jury has convicted former baseball star Barry Bonds on one count of obstructing justice but deadlocked on three other charges of lying to a grand jury in a trial over whether the home run king used steroids.

The judge dismissed the jury without asking them to return to deliberations.

One of the charges the jury deadlocked on concerned whether Bonds lied to a grand jury about being injected with a performance-enhancing drug.

It convicted him on an obstruction of justice charge related to the same grand jury testimony.
