McIlroy recovers after Masters heartache

Rory McIlroy stormed back from his US Masters heartache with "probably" his longest ever drive as Sweden's Alexander Noren lit up the Malaysian golf Open with a dazzling eight-under-par 64.

McIlroy says he's completely recovered from last weekend's agonising collapse at Augusta after hitting 69 to be five shots off Noren, whose astonishing nine birdies against one bogey gave him early control in Kuala Lumpur.

McIlroy says his tee-shot on the par-five fifth went "at least" 400 yards after a kind bounce off a cart-path

Masters champion Charl Schwartzel hit a one over park 73, the same as New Zealanders Mark Brown and Michael Campbell.

danny Lee is the best of the New Zealanders at the European co-sanctioned event after a 1 under par 71.
