Team NZ retains lead in China

Team New Zealand holds a two point lead after two days in the China round of the multihull Extreme Sailing Series but to stay in front in Qingdao they had to use video footage shot by another team.

When racing finished it looked as if the Austrian team Red Bull had snatched the lead after Dean Barker was recalled for being over the line early at the start in the last race.

Barker and the team of James Dagg, Glenn Ashby and Jeremy Lomas needed to finish sixth or better to retain their overall lead and fought their way to seventh from the back of the fleet.

They were adamant they were not over early and although the video footage was inconclusive it appeared to show they were right and they were moved up to fourth.
