Knights beat Cronulla as Storm move to top of NRL

The Knights broke a three-match rugby league losing streak to hold out a fast-finishing Cronulla 24-20 in Newcastle yesterday afternoon and move to seventh equal on the table with the Wests Tigers who lost to the Titans on Friday night.

Also yesterday the Storm beat the Panthers 25-10 in Penrith to lift the Melbourne side into first place level with the Broncos, who beat the Roosters 24-6 in Gosford on Saturday.

The Warriors suffered their fourth loss of the season on Saturday going down 20 to 10 at Manly leaving the New Zealand based side in a seven way tie for 9th, and lost utility back Shaun Berrigan for up to six weeks with a broken hand.

The Bulldogs and Cowboys had wins over the Eels and Raiders on Friday and Saturday and round six concludes in Sydney tonight with the Rabbitohs hosting the Dragons.
