The New Zealand driver Scott Dixon's finished a disappointing 18th in the latest round of the IndyCar champs in the United States.
Dixon was in sixth place but suffered wheel damage during one of several race restarts during the Long Beach Grand Prix.
England's Mike Conway won the race showing he'd overcome a serious crash in last year's Indianapolis 500 which left multiple leg fractures and a fractured spine.
