Bryan Williams takes over as NZRU president

The former All Black Bryan Williams has succeeded John Sturgeon as president of the New Zealand Rugby Union.

Williams was elected vice president in 2009 and was nominated by Auckland.

He played 113 games for the All Blacks between 1970 and 1978, and later went on to coach at provincial, franchise and international levels as well as serving as a director of the ARFU.

The new vice president is another former All Black, Ian MacRae.
