South African side the Sharks ran in four second half tries to record a 40-24 win over the Hurricanes in their Super Rugby match at Kings Park in Durban.
With the match locked at 13 points apiece at half-time the home side scored 27 points in the second half to ease to their sixth win of the season and move to the top of the South African conference.
The Hurricanes suffered an early setback when lock James Broadhurst was sin-binned in the fourth minute after stamping on an opponent at a ruck.
The Hurricanes have now lost six of their nine matches.
