An experienced yet youthful Black Sticks women's hockey side will contest the Champions Trophy in Amsterdam in June.

National coach Mark Hager has named an 18-strong side to take on the world's best teams with only Sophie Devine, Cathryn Finlayson, Alana Millington, Sally Rutherford and Anna Thorpe not having played at a Champions Trophy before.

The average age is just 23 but the average number of Test caps is 59.

The Black Sticks have yet to lose a Test series this year, they've played 13 home Tests against Korea, Japan and Argentina, winning the first two and drawing with the world number one Argentines.

The Black Sticks have been named in Pool B alongside the Netherlands, Germany and Australia. Pool A includes Argentina, China, England and Korea.
