Broughton says shooters should brace themselves if Latu case fails

Southern Steel coach Robyn Broughton says there's still hope for shooters on the fringe of the Silver Ferns in the event that Catherine Latu can't play at the Netball World Cup.

Selectors named Latu this week despite international netball rules declaring her ineligible to play for the Silver Ferns at the world champs, as she played for Samoa at the previous tournament.

But Netball New Zealand are confident in its bid to have the ruling overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Latu's inclusion comes at the expense of players like the Southern Steel's Daneka Wipi'iti.

But Steel Coach Robyn Broughton says there's still a chance for her if the case fails and she will be working hard to play her best netball for the remainder of the Trans-tasman series.
