Snooker stalwart scotches suggestions of retirement

Seven-times world snooker champion Stephen Hendry has ruled out retirement despite being thrashed in the second round of the World Championships in Sheffield earlier this week.

The 42-year-old says he still loves playing the game and wants the chance to come back and compete at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre next time.

The Scot says he's going to play all the tournaments next season and says there's no point being half-hearted.

Hendry, who became the youngest world champion at the age of 21, says after losing 13-4 to Englishman Mark Selby that he would make a decision about his future at the end of this season.
