The Highlanders halfback Aaron Smith has been found not guilty of a dangerous tackle on Blues opposite Toby Morland, during the side's Super 15 rugby match in Dunedin on Friday night.
Smith was given a yellow card for the tackle and sinbinned late in the game.
At a hearing in Wellington this afternoon SANZAR judicial officer Nigel Hampton QC, ruled the citing could not be made because Smith wasn't the player primarily responsible for lifting and then dropping Morland to the ground in a spear tackle.
