A second-string Manchester United has cruised into football's Champions League final with a 4-1 second leg semi final win over German club Schalke, to give them a 6-1 aggregate win.

Leading 2-nil after the first leg, United manager Sir Alex Ferguson made nine changes to his starting line-up with an eye to Monday morning's crucial English Premier match against Chelsea.

United will now play Barcelona in the final at Wembley later this month in what will be their third Champions League final in four years and gives Ferguson's side the chance to avenge their 2009 final loss to Barcelona in Rome.
