The New Zealand junior men's footballers lost 1-0 to Under-20 World Cup opponents Uruguay at the four-nation Suwon Cup in Korea on Thursday night.
The Junior All Whites were frustrated not to get a result but were encouraged by their performance, keeping the South Americans scoreless for 75 minutes before a swift Uruguay counter-attack resulted in the game's only goal.
New Zealand will face Uruguay in their second pool match at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Colombia on August 2nd.
