Vatuvei to return at Gold Coast?

5:50 pm on 7 May 2011

The fallout from Friday night's Anzac rugby league loss may impact on the Warriors, who face the Titans at the same Gold Coast venue on Sunday with four Test players set to back up.

Prop Sam Rapira is out of the game for up to six weeks with a dislocated thumb as the Kiwis lost 20-10 to keep their losing streak in the fixture on Australian soil alive - while fullback Lance Hohaia spilled a high ball for the first Kangaroos try.

So Warriors coach Ivan Cleary may be tempted to rest the veteran against the Titans with winger Manu Vatuvei perhaps getting a start a week ahead of schedule.

Kevin Locke would move to fullback in that scenario, but either way, Locke's been practicing for some bombing raids as the Titans playmaker Scotty Prince is sure to rain down high kicks on the Warriors.

Locke defused several bombs last week as the Warriors saw off the Panthers and the young utility says it's going to be another challenging weekend under the high ball but that's what training is for, and practice makes perfect.

Locke says you just have to catch the ball and not think about it.
