Tiger Woods' woes continued as he was forced to withdraw with injury after only nine holes on the first day of the Players Championship in Florida, the biggest event of the year outside the four major championships.
This was Woods first tournament back since last month's Masters where he injured his knee, and he was also battling an achilles tendon injury.
This latest setback comes barely a month before the U.S. Open.
The early leader in the big Florida event is the American Nick Watney who has completed an 8-under par 64.
