Golf's Players Championship in Florida is headed for a showdown between home favourites and British challengers.

American David Toms is the unlikely leader after the second round - Toms hasn't had a win in five years but the 44-year-old fired a four under par 68 for a 10 under total.

He's one shot ahead of compatriot Nick Watney while lurking in the chasing group two strokes behind on eight under are Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell, world number three Luke Donald from England, and Americans Steve Stricker and Lucas Glover, who won last week at Quail Hollow.
